A copy of H.R. 6893 the Act attached (click here to see the whole Act) was signed by the United States Congress in January, 2008 giving support to relative caregivers, to improve conditions for those children in foster care and provides tribal foster care and adoption access to children placed in the system. If you are a caregiver wanting to adopt a child placed in foster care this Act is enacted by Congress to help guide Human Services in all states to guide them in the process of helping children placed for adoption. Although to this date, this Act in some states still is not being implemented by the Department of Human Services.
